Meet Cate the Breeder

I have always had a love for animals, which was encouraged while growing up, with our family pets and later working with locals in my neighbourhood to rescue stray cats to have them de-sexed then move to good homes and in Year 10, I chose my Work Experience placement at the Lost Dogs Home in North Melbourne.

In 2021, just before the second lockdown we got our gorgeous Sunnie from Cosmic River Oodles. Cate was wonderful to deal with, giving us great advice and being very flexible when plans had to change at last minute for collecting Sunnie.

Sunnie has been a fantastic addition to our family. Despite no puppy school, she is very well behaved, loyal, happy, social, relaxed and such a terrific companion for our boys- putting up with a lot from an 8 and 10 year old!!

Once we visited Cate at Cosmic river oodles, we knew our quest to find our breeder had stopped. What we loved about Cosmic River Oodles, was Cates passion, knowledge of breeding, dogs and her love for what she does. We also aligned with her values around breeding and how she cares for her mum dogs and caps how often and how many litters they have. Cate has the kindest heart and know’s everything about puppies/dogs, who needs Google when you have Cate! And of course the amazing space she has created for her dogs and their puppies, it is incredible.

The best thing I ever did for our family was to call Cate from Cosmic River Groodles. During our first conversation and subsequent visits she got to know us and what we needed in our new family member to ensure our experience was a happy one. Snoopy was welcomed into our home and has stolen all our hearts. As first time dog owners Cate was always happy to offer advice and guidance and answer any questions that came along during those first few weeks of puppy care. Snoopy’s temperament and gentle nature has proven to be the perfect companion for our son and has had positive effect on his anxiety. We can’t imagine not having a dog in our lives now.
